This is the highflow version of the MiataCage Carbon Fiber Intake. It has a trumpet or venturi style design and uses a 4.5"" dual cone style air filter. They are currently testing this unit and will have more findings soon. They have tested it on an engine dyno and have seen HP and Torque increases over the 3"". We will be doing some on track testing as well as chassis dyno testing in the very near future. Carbon Fiber Air Intake - Designed as a highly efficient intake to move air from the air filter into the Air Flow Meter (AFM). The intake on the air filter end is a 4.5"" tube that transitions down to a 2"" square, which is what the AFM inlet accepts. Most intakes on the market do not transition to a square inlet to meet the AFM and thus cause turbulence at the entry point to the AFM resulting in dirty air and lower horsepower. The intake is made from a 1 piece seamless sock of carbon fiber, so there is not visible seam on the outside and the inside has been designed for maximum air flow. During 4 back to back dyno runs against the Racing Beat air intake, this intake had on average a 3.1hp increase. Not only functional this piece looks great under the hood and weighs under 1 pound. Carbon Fiber does not transfer heat like aluminum does, so it would only get warm on the side that directly faces the headers. It will not pick up the heat from the headers and transfer it around to the entire piece creating an oven like environment like the aluminum ones on the market will.
